Course Description:
This is a college level course that relies heavily
on a college text, primary source documents, and outside readings.
Students should have a well-developed ability to construct and evaluate
arguments as well as handle a diversity of information and interpretations
of historical events. Special emphasis is given to historical writing
through essay and document based questions. The time period covered
will be from the Age of Exploration to the present day. Special attention
is given to the interactions of peoples and cultures, global trade
networks, and the comparison of civilizations over time.
